NORFOLK - Thelma L. McFarland , wife of the late William McFarland , of the 900 
block of Lasser Drive died March 16, 2007. A native of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., she 
was retired from Lake Wright Hotel, Norfolk, after 23 years. She was a member of 
Olive Grove Baptist Church, Norfolk. 

Survivors include a daughter, Regina Barton of Virginia Beach; two sons, Mark 
McFarland (Karen) of Virginia Beach and Allen McFarland of Norfolk; a sister, 
Ethelene Jones of Norfolk; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one 
aunt, one sister-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; 
and a special granddaughter, Tonia Heckstall. She was predeceased by a daughter, 
Rachael White. 

A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Olive Grove Baptist Church, Albert 
Avenue, Norfolk, by the Rev. Joyce Martin. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, 
Norfolk. Community Funeral Home, Norfolk, is in charge.
