Geo. W. McGlauhon took place from Granby Street M.E. Church yesterday in the presence of a large congregation. The services were conducted by Rev. Dr. Sledd, who paid an affectionate tribute to the memory of the good man. The preacher pointed out the valuable lessons taught in the Christian life of Col. McGlauhon and held his example as fit to be imitated by the young. He had been a member of the Methodist Church for 40 years and of Granby Street Church for 17 years and had done good work for the Master. After the services the body was taken to Elmwood for interment. The following gentlemen acted as pallbearers : B.T. Bockover, Prof. W.M. Jones, A.J. Harrell, Maj. J.Y. Leigh, Chas. G. Elliott, Jos. G. Watts, M.L.T. Davis and Maj. S.F. Pearce. Col. McGlauhom was a Mason, but did not belong to any lodge in this city. ***************************************************************************** Funeral of Col. George W. McGlauhon The funeral of this lamented gentleman took place from the Granby Street M.E. Church yesterday afternoon and was attended by a large number of friends and sorrowing relatives. The services were conducted by Rev. R.L. Sledd, D.D., assisted by the Rev. R. M. Saunders and the remains were laid away in Elmwood, the following gentlemen acting as pallbearers: Jas. Y. Leigh, S.F. Pearce, B.T. Bockover, Wm. Watts, J.A. Harrell, C.G. Elliott, M.L.T. Davis, W.M. Jones.
