Virginian-Pilot  April 5, 1937
William Henry McGuire, aged 60, husband of Mrs. Julia G. McGuire and son of the 
late Frank and Mrs. Mary Shannon McGuire, died at his residence, 3107 Hammett 
avenue, Lenox, Saturday night at 11:25 o’clock. Mr. McGuire was a native of 
Lowell, Mass., and a resident of Norfolk for 25 years. He was a member of 
Elizabeth Camp No. 3, Woodmen of the World, and a stevedore with the Philadelphia 
and Norfolk Steamship Company. Besides his wife, he is survived by one sister, 
Mrs. Florence Coyle, of New Jersey, and a brother, Stanley J. McGuire, of Norfolk.
Funeral services will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ocean View, 
Wednesday morning at 10 o’clock. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
