McGuire, only son of Elenora M. and
 the late Patrick F. McGuire, died
 Sunday morning at 6:15 o’clock at 
the home of his brother-in-law, John
 S. Thatch, 831 Tunstall avenue. Mr. 
McGuire had been ill about a year, 
but his condition took a turn for the worse after he returned from Washington last March, where he attended
 the inaguration of President Taft. Like scores of others, he contracted a severe cold and his condition was such at the time that it developed
 into tuberculosis of the throat. He was in the twenty-sixth year of his 
age and was very popular both in
 Norfolk and Portsmouth. Up to last summer, he was manager for Messrs. Terry and O’Keefe, who conduct a café and amusement enterprises at Virginia Beach and Cape Henry and for several years was in the employ of this newspaper. Besides his mother, he is survived by three sisters, Mrs. J. S. Thatch, Mrs. J. S. Cowling and Mrs. Harry P. Moore. He was a member of the Emerald’s Beneficial Association and the Ancient Order of Hibernians. The funeral services will be conducted from St. Mary’s Catholic church this morning at 10 o’clock with high requiem mass. The Rev. Father Walsh, assistant pastor of St. Mary’s, will be the celebrant, assisted by the Rev. Father Doherty, pastor of the church, and the Rev. Joseph Frioli, of Newport News. The interment will be made in St. Mary’s cemetery.
