McGuire, one of the South’s leading paving contractors, who died Friday night in a local hospital, will be held tomorrow morning at 10 o’clock at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments tonight at 8 o’clock. Mr. McGuire began his contracting business in Norfolk shortly after the turn of the Century and his company, with headquarters here, handled large paving contracts here and all over the South. Of late years he had made his home in West Palm Beach, Fla., and had come to Norfolk several weeks ago. He was 73 years old. Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Clyde L. Davis and Mrs. Veronica M. Wagner, both of Norfolk; a son, Philip H. McGuire, of Norfolk; three sisters, Mrs. James K. McGuire, of Bronxville, N.Y.; Mrs. Franklin H. Church, of Salem, N.J. and Miss Bertha McGuire, of Utica, N.Y.; also nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
