F. McGuire took place at his residence on Charlotte street Sunday morning at 5:30 o’clock after a lingering illness of several months. He had been confined to his bed for the past seven weeks, and bore his sufferings with Christian fortitude. He had just passed his 37th year. He was one of the organizers of the Emerald Beneficial Association and, at the time of his death, was treasurer, having held the office since the organization, now nearly thirteen years. He was thoroughly conscientious in every transaction; he was a lasting friend, a good father, a kind husband, and an upright gentleman. While his death was somewhat unexpected to his near friends, he had made every preparation, and, when he was called, he went prepared to meet his God, in whom he had every trust. He leaves a wife and four small children to mourn his loss. His funeral will take place this morning at 9 o’clock from St. Mary’s Catholic Church and will be attended by the Emerald Beneficial Society in a body.
