 The Virginian Pilot Sunday September 20, 1970
Mrs. Betty Shipman McHorney, 65, of 1196 Sparrow Road, died Saturday night 
in a Norfolk hospital.
A native of Fairfax, she was a daughter of Richard and Mrs. Minnie Shipman 
and the wife of Raymond Lee McHorney.
She was a member of Fairfax Baptist Church.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughter, Mrs. Sharron Ellington 
of Chesapeake and Mrs. Ginger Forehand of Virginia Beach; a son, Herman N. 
McHorney Sr. of Chesapeake; a sister, Mrs. Mildred Bailey of Chesapeake 
Beach, Md.; and five grandchildren.
The body was taken to Francis A. Gay Funeral Home.

CHESAPEAKE - A funeral service for Mrs. Betty Shipman McHorney will be held 
Tuesday at 4 p.m. in Francis A. Gay Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert A. 
Richards. Burial will be Magnolia Cemetery. The family will be at 2630 
Eastwood Road, Chesapeake.
