F. McHORNEY, 59, TUG CAPTAIN Walter F. McHorney, 59, of 117 W. 14th St., a tugboat captain for Raymond Davis Towing Co., died Tuesday at noon in a hospital. He was a son of Walter V. and Mrs. Mammie Watson McHorney. A native of Scranton, N.C., he lived in Norfolk 43 years. Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ruth McHorney of Norfolk; two daughters, Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Albert and Mrs. Doloris Smith of Jacksonville, Fla.; a son, Walter F. McHorney Jr. of Jacksonville; two sisters, Mrs. Virginia Garcia of Norfolk and Mrs. Beatrice Lupton of Chesapeake; a brother, William H. McHorney of Buxton, N.C.; and four grandchildren. The body will be taken from H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Elmwood Cemetery for a funeral service Thursday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. I.S. Connor of Primitive Baptist Church.
