Norfolk Virginian Pilot December 14, 1936

Mrs. Lillie Virginia McHorney, aged 66, widow of John Ellis McHorney and 
daughter of the late William W. and Vandelia Smith Forbes, died suddenly at her 
residence, 307 West Nineteenth Street, yesterday afternoon at 5:25 o'clock. She 
was a native of Sandbridge and had been a resident of Norfolk for the past 57 
years. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. G.R. Bain, Mrs. Gertrude Forbes, 
Miss Pearl E. McHorney and Miss Bridget T. McHorney all of Norfolk and two 
grandchildren, G. Raleigh Bain, Jr. and Oscar E. Forbes, both of Norfolk. Mrs. 
McHorney was a member of the Colonial Avenue Methodist Church 
The body was removed to the Ewell & Williamson Funeral Home, Thirty-fifth Street 
at Colonial Avenue pending funeral arrangements.
