Norfolk - Joe McInnis of 445 Chapel street died in a hospital.  A native of
Roland, NC, he was the husband of Mrs. Catherine McInnis and a son of John
McInnis of Norfolk and the late Mrs. Cora Thomas McInnis.  He worked for the
City of Norfolk.

Besides his widow and father, surviving are two sons, Joe McInnis, Jr., and
Robert McInnis;  seven daughters, Mrs. Shirleen Boykins, Mrs. Dorothy Lankford,
Misses Rowena McInnis, Regina McInnis, Vaughan McInnis, Shannon McInnis, and
Katie McInnis;  a brother, George McInnis, and three sisters, Mrs. Beatrice
Mayo, Mrs. Cora Lee McClain, and Mrs. Inez Hurst, all of Norfolk;  12
grandchildren;  and six great-grandchildren.

Graves Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
