Mrs. McKay lived at 6924 Gregory drive, Mamie Gardens, Norfolk. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. August 18 at Queen Street Baptist Church, with the Rev. J. Jasper Freeman, D.D., officiating. Mrs. McKay, a native of Norfolk, was educated in the Norfolk public schools and at Virginia State College, Petersburg VA. She taught at one time in the county of Zuni VA and was active in church and Sunday school. Survivors are her husband, Christopher McKay; her mother, Mrs. Mary Hill; three sons, Christopher C. McKay Jr., Langston A. McKay, and Myron McKay; a daughter, Cynthia McKay, and the mother-in-law, Mrs. Eva R. Maddox. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with Grave’s Funeral Home in charge.
