Virginian-Pilot  April 1, 1918
Alfred L. McKown died last night at ten o’clock after a long illness, at his home, 
1408 Highland avenue, in his twenty-second year. He is survived by his parents, 
Mr. and Mrs. B. F. McKown, four sisters, Mrs. A. F. Anderson, Mrs. G. A. Bailey, 
Mrs. W. D. Potter and Miss Wilhelmina McKown, and five brothers, Ernest M., Samuel 
D., Caughtry J., Livius L. and Philip P. McKown, all of Norfolk.
The funeral takes place tomorrow at 2:30 p.m. at the residence. Burial in Forest 
Lawn.
