A lifelong resident of Norfolk, he was the husband of Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Cuthrell McKown and a son of Benjamin F. and Mrs. Adelaide Fitzgerald McKown. He was a member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. Survivors include a son, L. M. McKown Jr., of Chesapeake; a sister, Mrs. G. A. Bailey, of Norfolk; three brothers, E. M. McKown, of Virginia Beach, C. F. McKown, of Chesapeake and P. G. McKown, of Richmond; and two grandchildren. The body will be taken from H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to St. Matthew’s Catholic Church for a funeral service Wednesday at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
