The deceased was a native of Ireland, but had resided in Norfolk for upward of 35 years. He was one of the pioneers in his business here, that of a cotton screwman. He was a man of genial, kindly disposition and had very many friends in the city. He leaves two sons- Messrs. R.F. and F.R. McLaughlin. The funeral will occur Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock at St. Mary's Catholic Church, of which he was a member.. ************************************************************************* The obsequies of Morris McLaughlin were held from St. Mary’s Catholic church at 9 a.m. yesterday and was attended by a large concourse of the friends of the deceased. The service was conducted by the Rev. Father Edward J. Walsh, associate pastor of the church. During the service, Mrs. James Hughes sang “Nearer My God to Thee.” There was a beautiful display of floral tributes. The interment was in St. Mary’s cemetery. The pallbearers were as follows: W. J. Green, J. E. Prince, Samuel Davidson, J. T. Holland, James Brennan, Patrick Rice, Geo. M. Heppel and M. H. Prince.
