Austin J. McLaughlin, 79, of Clearwater Beach, Fla., died Sunday Sept. 8, 2002.
Mr. McLaughlin was born July 28, 1923, in Norfolk, and was the youngest son of 
John P. McLaughlin and Marie Bell McLaughlin. He attended St. Mary’s and Holy 
Trinity Catholic Schools. He served in the Army Air Corps in War World II and 
was retired from the Naval Supply Center in Norfolk in 1981.
Austin is survived by his wife of 52 years, Eda Baber McLaughlin, of Clearwater 
Beach, Fla. He was preceded in death by his sisters and brothers, John, Marie 
(Peggy), Billy, Frank, Elizabeth and Paul.
A chapel service will be conducted Friday at 10 a.m. by Father John Dorgan. The 
family will receive friends today from 7 to 8 p.m. in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., 
Norfolk Chapel.
