Virginian-Pilot January 24, 1947
Mrs. Marie Bell McLaughlin, aged 68 years, widow of John P. McLaughlin and 
daughter of the late John D. and Mrs. Flora Falkland Bell, a native of 
Pittsburgh, Pa., and a resident of Norfolk for 38 years, died Thursday morning 
at 10 o’clock at the residence, 377 West Princess Anne Road. Surviving are two 
daughters, Mrs. M. J. Cannon and Mrs. R. L. Galloway; five sons, J. R. Monteiro, 
Owen Patrick McLaughlin, Frank M. McLaughlin, Paul M. McLaughlin and Austin J. 
McLaughlin, all of Norfolk, and one brother, J. Austin Bell, of Pittsburgh. The 
body will be taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments to Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church for services Saturday morning at 10 o'clock.
Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the 
Oliver Funeral Apartments Friday night at 7:30 o’clock.
