Virginian-Pilot  December 30, 1928
Mrs. Mary A. McLaughlin, aged 60, widow of Richard F. McLaughlin, one-time 
Norfolk fire chief, died at 2:30 a.m. yesterday at the residence, 534 
Massachusetts avenue, Colonial Place. She was a native and life-long resident of 
Norfolk. Surviving her are three daughters, Mrs. J. H. Gregory and the Misses 
Regina and Fidelis McLaughlin; two sons, Richard F. Jr., and John Prince 
McLaughlin; one sister, Mrs. Lillian Davis; one brother, Capt. M. H. Prince, and 
three grandchildren, J. H. Gregory, Jr., and Richard and Mary McLaughlin 
Gregory, all of Norfolk.
Funeral services will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church tomorrow 
morning at 11:30 o’clock. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
