The Norfolk Virginian Pilot January 27, 1953
Zack McLawhorn, 63, retired farmer, of Norfolk County, died at King's 
Daughters' Hospital, Portsmouth, Sunday at 11:40 p.m.
A native of Pitt County, N.C., he had resided in this section since 1941.  He 
was the son of Calvin and Nancy Dandiford McLawhorn.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nina McLawhorn; seven daughters, Mrs. Inez 
Dunaway, Mrs. Jean Freas, Mrs. Oma Dell Simmons, and Mrs. Marion Smith, of 
Norfolk County; Mrs. Ruby Miller and Mrs. Garland Trower, of Princess Anne 
County, and Mrs. Beverly Barton, of Norfolk; a son, Linwood E. McLawhorn, also 
of Norfolk; two brothers, Thad McLawhorn, of Maysville, N.C., and Pink 
McLawhorn, of Ayden, N.C.; a sister, Mrs. W.H. Cannon, of Hobgood, N.C.; 17 
grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home today at 
2 p.m.  Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
