The Norfolk Virginian Pilot Friday, February 13, 1953
Mrs. Deanie E. McLain, 87, wife of the late Joseph B. McLain, died yesterday in 
a Norfolk nursing home after a short illness.
A native of Elizabeth City, N.C., she had lived in New York most of her life 
and in this section 15 years. She resided at 801 Stockley Gardens. Her parents 
were Alexander and Mrs. Lucinda Burcher.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
The body was removed to the Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk, where 
funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Elmwood 
Cemetery. It has been requested that flowers be omitted.
