McMahon, who died Sunday afternoon at his home, No. 166 Mariner street, took place at 10 o’clock yesterday morning from St. Mary’s Catholic Church and was largely attended. Solemn requiem mass was said by the Rev. Father Doherty, during which the Rev. Father Wilson, of the Church of the Sacred Heart, occupied a seat in the sanctuary. “One Sweetly Solemn Thought” was sung by Miss Mary Smith as the casket was being borne from the church. The following were the pallbearers: Edward Mahoney, M. T. Friary, John Mahoney, T. O’Connor, P. Smith, J. E. Duke, John B. Loughran and W. G. Parker, the interment being in St. Mary’s Cemetery. For the past twenty years Mr. McMahon had been a resident of Norfolk, previous to which and for a long time he was connected with the dry goods business in New York. He was a man of sterling worth and had a host of friends. He leaves two stepchildren - Miss Mary J. Magee, of this city, and Dr. M. D’Arcy Magee, of Washington, D. C. His wife died during the early part of this year.
