Virginian Pilot July 16, 1999

Rhea Osborne McMillan of LaVallette Ave., respected matriarch, cherished 
grandmother, faithful parishioner and accomplished artist, joined her Creator on 
July 14, 1999.
Born Nov. 28, 1914, Mrs. McMillan was a lifetime resident of Norfolk and a 
longtime member of Knox Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the Sarah 
Rebekah Circle and an elder. She was also a member of the Daughters of the 
American Revolution, Mayflower Society, Chesapeake Bay Art Association, 
Tidewater Artists Association, the Order of the Eastern Star and a counselor for 
many years at CBN.
She was predeceased by her husband, Metz Lloyd McMillan, and a son, Alexander 
McMillan. Survivors include six sons, Daniel B. McMillan of Lynchburg, James L. 
McMillan and Lloyd R. McMillan of Norfolk, David W. McMillan and J. Stanley 
McMillan of Virginia Beach, Robert O. McMillan of Loganville, Ga., and their 
wives, Imogene, Nancy and Kim; one sister, Jennie Osborne Sawyer of Norfolk; 10 
grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and many friends and loved ones.
Family visitation will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. today at Altmeyer Funeral Home, 
Virginia Beach. Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Knox 
Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Stephen Ratliff officiating. Interment will 
follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Princess Anne Road, Norfolk. Memorial donations may 
be made to Knox Presbyterian General Fund, 427 W. 37th St., Norfolk VA 23508.
