Norfolk - Joseph McNair, 71, was given final rites Wednesday in St. Mark’s 
United Church of Christ.  The Rev. Hilton Felton, pastor of Rising Sun Baptist 
Church, officiated at the rites.  Interment followed in Calvary Cemetery with 
Pretlows Funeral Home in charge.

Mr. McNair, of 1716 Oakfield street, was the son of the late Joseph and Mrs. 
Margaret McNair and the husband of Mrs. Norma F. McNair.  A native of 
Littleton, NC, he was retired from the Texaco Oil Company.  He was a member of 
First Baptist Church, Wilson, NC.

Also surviving are a son, Joseph F. McNair of Brooklyn;  seven daughters, Mrs. 
Ruthie E. Wallace of Sacramento, CA;  Mrs. Norma Rich of Falls Church, VA, 
Mrs. Eula Lankford of Norfolk, Mrs. Clara McCray, Miss Evalene McNair and Miss 
Mildred McNair of New York, Mrs. Ruby F. Garfield of Greensboro NC;  three 
sisters, Miss Sarah McNair of New York, Mrs. Mary Moultrie of Brooklyn and 
Mrs. Vista Taylor of Lumberton NC;  and two brothers, Leroy and Herbert McNair 
of Catskill, NY.
