The Virginian Pilot Tuesday November 14, 1961
Eli McPherson Sr., 71, of 714 Pulaski St. died Sunday afternoon in his home 
after a long illness.
He was a son of John and Mrs. Dinah McPherson and was a native of Norfolk.
He retired from W.G. Swartz Co. in 1958 after 45 years of service. He was a 
member of Greater Norfolk Lodge of Elks 132, Norfolk Musicians Local 702 and 
the Premier Military Band.
Surviving are two sons, Eli McPherson Jr. of Norfolk and Nathaniel McPherson 
Sr. of Washington, D.C.; and two sisters, Mrs. Rachel Bess and Mrs. Gertrude 
Brooks of Norfolk.
The body was taken to Morning Glory Funeral Home.
