Virginian Pilot and the Norfolk Landmark March 1, 1923

Samuel David McPherson, 16 years old, son of D.J. and Mrs. Fanshaw McPherson, 
died at a local hospital yesterday morning.  He was a member of Boy Scout 
Troop No. 4 and had many friends.  He is survived by his parents and one 
brother, William Tilden McPherson.  The funeral services will be held tomorrow 
at 3 o'clock at the residence 803 North Clay Avenue.  The Rev. L.E. Smith, 
D.D. and the Rev. R.J. Dogan will officiate.  The burial will take place in 
Elmwood Cemetery.
