Funeral services were held recently for Mrs. Ida McPherson at Garretts Community
Church on Cumberland street. The eulogy was delivered by the Rev. W. C. Blount.
She died at her residence at 2621 Liberia drive, Roberts Park.

Mrs. McPherson was a native of New York City. She came to Norfolk in 1899. Mr.
and Mrs. McPherson were married Nov. 25,1935 by the late Rev. R. K. D. Garrett
at St. Paul AME Church.

Mrs. McPherson is survived by her husband, John Elijah McPherson; a cousin, Mrs.
Bessie Smith, and other relatives.

Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with Hale’s Funeral Home in charge.
