Virginia Beach - Milly James McPherson, of 708 Virginia Beach Boulevard, died
Friday, Jan. 10, in his home.

A native of Princess Anne County, he was retired from McPherson Seafood after 55
years and a member of First Baptist Church, Lynnhaven.

He was Chairman of the Deacons of the Church, Chairman of Trustees, Sunday
School Teacher, and retired Grand Master Mason, as well as past president of the
Virginia Beach chapter of the NAACP.

Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. Virginia Wright of Riverhead, Long Island,
NY; Mrs. Marie McHean of Maryland, Miss Mary McPherson of Brooklyn, NY, Mrs.
Mildred Robinson of San Diego, CA, Mrs. Rosalyn Haynes of Virginia Beach, and
Mrs. Henrietta Lassiter of Norfolk; four sons, Alvin McPherson of Brooklyn, NY,
Eugene McPherson of Riverhead, Long Island, NY, John P. McPherson of Norfolk,
and Julus Bell of Virginia Beach; 25 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Wednesday, Jan. 15, in First Baptist Church,
Lynnhaven, by Dr. Milton A. Reid.

Hale Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
