The Norfolk Virginian Pilot March 24,1936
David James McPherson, aged 72, husband of Mrs. Sarah Ann McPherson, died 
yesterday morning after a long illness at his residence, 820 Clay avenue. He 
was a native of Princess Anne County, and had lived in Norfolk for 40 years. 
Besides his wife, he is survived by one son, William T. McPherson, of Norfolk, 
and several nieces and nephews. He was a member of Industrial Council No. 1, 
Order Fraternal Americans.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Gregory Funeral Home, 3401 Granby 
street, tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock by the Rev. H.S. Hardcastle, pastor of 
the Christian Temple. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
