Virginian-Pilot  April 22 & 24, 1931
Elmore Edward Mears, of Norfolk, died yesterday morning at 5:30 o’clock after a 
short illness of pneumonia at Alleghany General Hospital, Pittsburgh. He is 
survived by his wife, Mrs. Helen Couch Mears, and a son, Edward Couch Mears. 
Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Elmore Edward Mears - Funera1 services for Mr. Mears, whose death occurred Tuesday 
at Pittsburgh, will be held at 2:30 o’clock this afternoon at H. D. Oliver’s 
Funeral Apartments, 610-12 East Freemason street, with Monsignor Thomas E. Waters, 
pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will be in St. 
Mary’s Cemetery.
