NORFOLK – Lorena Fay Wasson Meath died on Monday in DePaul Medical Center at the 
age of 75.
Mrs. Meath was born on Aug. 14, 1922, in Morehead, Miss. She was the daughter of 
Annie Mae Dean and Dr. Ulysses Wasson. She attended Mississippi Delta Community 
College (formerly Sunflower Junior College). She moved to Norfolk in 1942.
Mrs. Meath was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Norfolk. She was a 
member of the Little Creek Women’s Club, where she served as secretary, vice-
president and president. Mrs. Meath was a volunteer at DePaul Hospital for over 
20 years.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Vincent L. Meath of Norfolk; her 
three sons, James U. Meath of Richmond, William D. Meath of Midlothian, Va., and 
Kenneth D. Meath of Richmond; her sister, Katherine Wasson Baggett of Orlando, 
Fla.; and five grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at Christ United 
Methodist Church by the Rev. Fran T. Cooper. Entombment will be at St. Mary’s 
Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 7:30 
today. Memorial donations may be made in her name to Christ United Methodist 
Church, 1601 East Bayview Blvd., Norfolk, Va. 23503. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., 
Norfolk Chapel, is handling arrangements.
