NORFOLK - Mrs. Marie Wells Meert, 70, of 7000 Old Mill Road, wife of George T. 
Meert and daughter of John S. and Mrs. Elizabeth Pertell Wells, died Monday at 1 
a.m. in a hospital.
A native of Chicago, she lived in Norfolk six years. She was a member of St. 
Pius X Catholic Church.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. A. L. Daigle of 
Norfolk; two sons, G. J. Meert of Levittown, Pa., and George T. Meert Jr. of 
Irwin, Pa.; a brother, John S. Wells of Wexford, Pa.; and 11 grandchildren.
The Rosary will be recited in H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments Wednesday at 7:30 
p.m.
A funeral service will be held in St. Pius X Catholic Church Thursday at 10:30 
a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
