A native of Berkley, he was a son of William C. and Mrs. Osafo Laform Meginley and the husband of Mrs. Joyce Johnson Meginley. He was a member of St. Brides Episcopal Church, a past chancellor commander and a 50-year honorary life member of Willie Lee Pythian Lodge 119, and a member of Hines Memorial Pythian Home. Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Charles B. Meginley of Clearwater Beach, Fla., and Raymond M. Meginley of Tampa, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Alice Harrell of Chesapeake and Mrs. Louise Towe of Chincoteague; two brothers, B.F. Meginley of Chesapeake and William C. Meginley Jr. of Salem; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in St. Brides Episcopal Church by the Rev. William C. Hoffman. Francis A. Gay Funeral Home is in charge.
