Charles Meixel, 77, husband of Mrs. Stephanie Keller and son of Karl and Mrs. 
Elizabeth Uslander Meixel, died yesterday at a Norfolk hospital. He was a native 
of Germany and a resident of this section for 62 years. He resided in Lonsdale, 
Norfolk County.
Besides his wife, he is survived by five sons, E. A., H. C., C. W., and W. J. 
Meixel, of Norfolk, and Roy Meixel, of Newbern, N.C.; six daughters, Mrs. Mae 
Carter, of Norfolk; Mrs. Elizabeth Pipes, of Key West, Fla.; Mrs. Emma Hubbard, 
Mrs. Margaret Christie, Mrs. Rose M. Blackstone and Mrs. Antionette Smith, of 
Norfolk; 13 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. John 
Flick, of Norfolk; Mrs. Louise Ropp and Mrs. Elizabeth Webber, of Germany.
The body was taken to the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments.

MEIXEL, CHARLES – At a local hospital, Sunday afternoon, March 20th, 1949, 
CHARLES, husband of Mrs. Stephanie Keller Meixel and son of the late Karl and 
Mrs. Elizabeth Uslander Meixel, in the 78th year of his age. Remains will be 
taken from the H. D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial Avenue, to Sacred 
Heart Catholic Church for services THURSDAY MORINING at 10 o’clock. Friends of 
the family are invited to attend. Interment, St. Mary’s Cemetery.
