Smith Melchor, 54, of the 1400 block of Lead St., passed peacefully on May 18, 2004. She was a native of Norfolk born to the late Henry and Helen Woodhouse Smith. She leaves to cherish her memory a sister, Marjorie E. Perry; a brother, Joseph E. Woodhouse (Winifred); a sister-in-law, Delores Woodhouse; a brother-in-law, George McCoy; a special friend, Serena N. Thomas; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also predeceased by her daughter, Collene M. Melchor. A funeral will be held Wednesday at noon at Bethlehem Baptist Church, Marshall Avenue and Link Street, with the Rev. T.B. Washington officiating. Viewing will be held Tuesday from 2 to 8 p.m. at Riddick Funeral Service, Norfolk Chapel.
