Mellberg SOUTH NORFOLK - Adolph G. Mellberg, 62, of 915 Edgewood Ave., died Friday at 10 a.m. in a Norfolk hospital. He had been in failing health the last six months. He was a rigger at the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. A native of Stockholm, Sweden, he had lived in the Norfolk area the last 42 years. He was a member of the Rosemont Christian Church. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nina B. Cherry Mellberg; two daughters, Mrs. Everett E. Reffner and Mrs. Preston L. Best, all of South Norfolk; one son, Adolph G. Mellberg Jr. of Elon N.C., and five grandchildren. The body was taken to the Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, where funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2 p.m. by the Rev. W.W. Snyder, pastor of the Rosemont Christian Church. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
