Mrs. Mellberg, a native of Mackey's Ferry, N.C., retired from Portlock Elementary School. She was the widow of Adolph G. Mellberg and a charter member of the Chesapeake First Senior Citizens Club. She was a member of Rosemont Christian Church. Survivors include two daughters, Irma J. Reffner and Christina M. Best, both of Chesapeake; a son, Adolph G. Mellberg of Greensboro: seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Rosemont Christian Church by the Rev. Carroll Lewis. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
