Mrs. Josephine Feroni Meloni, 73, widow of Louis Meloni and daughter of the late 
Joseph and Mrs. Laura Feroni, died yesterday at 9:30 a.m. at a Norfolk hospital.
Mrs. Meloni was a native of Italy and a resident of Norfolk for 36 years, 
residing at 223 West 18th Street at the time of her death. She was a member of 
Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin, and Cuore de 
Maria Gorizia Lodge No. 619.
Surviving are three sons, Alexander Meloni and Gus Meloni, of Norfolk, Theodore 
Meloni, of Charleston, West Va.; six daughters, Mrs. Dennis Ciola, of Norfolk, 
Mrs. Edmund Agostini, of New York, Mrs. Carr Smith, of Norfolk, Mrs. Charles 
Bevilacqua, of New York, N.Y., Mrs. John Bryant, and Mrs. Michael Stanchi, of 
Norfolk; 10 grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
The body will be taken from the residence to Sacred Heart Catholic Church for 
funeral services Friday at 9 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Rosary 
services will be held at the residence Thursday night at 7:30 o’clock.
