Last rites were held May 10 at Riddick's Funeral Chapel for Mrs. Cora Melvin,
61, who died May 5 in a local hospital. The Rev. W. H. Cruze of Mt. Pleasant
Baptist Church officiated, and burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. Melvin, of 1160 Mariner street, was a native of Gumberry, NC, and a member
of Bethel Baptist Church where she served on the usher board.

She is survived by one son, Walter Melvin Jr. of Norfolk; daughter, Mrs. Katie
Moore, Norfolk; two brothers, Chester Gee of Portsmouth and Alonzo Gee of Rich
Square, NC.

Riddick's Funeral service handled arrangements.
