Norfolk Virginian Pilot Thursday October 28, 1954
Mrs. Lee Morgan Mercer, 74, widow of John W. Mercer, died yesterday at 6 
a.m. at the residence, 2908 Kimball Terrace, Grandy Park, after an illness 
of two years.
A native of Warwick County, she had lived here the last 60 years.  She was a 
daughter of John Carter and Mrs. Margaret Bonneville Morgan.  Her husband 
died in 1937.  She was a member of the First Christian Church, Berkley, and 
the Woman's Benefit Association.
Surviving are four sons, Pat Morgan Mercer, of Virginia Beach; Richard T. 
Mercer and Cecil L. Mercer, both of Norfolk, and Lee Ashburn Mercer, of Fort 
Pierce, Fla.; one sister, Mrs. Willie Morgan, of Warwick; five grandchildren 
and two great grandchildren.
The body was removed to the Sykes Funeral Home, Berkley, where funeral 
services will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m.  Burial will be in Magnolia 
Cemetery.
