A service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Hale Funeral Home for 
Waverly Mercer, 35, of 867 Etna street who died Sunday at Kecoughtan 
Veterans Hospital.

The Rev. Jesse Arrington, pastor of Bethel Baptist Church will officiate, 
and burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with military honors. Mr. Mercer was 
a veteran of World War II. He was the son of the late Calvin Mercer and Mrs. 
Mary Mercer.

Among his survivors are a daughter, Earline Copeland of Norfolk, four 
sisters, Mrs. Florence Johnson, Mrs. Leola Miller, and Miss Ida Mercer of 
Norfolk and Mrs. Gladys Woolfolk of Chicago, and two brothers, Jesse Mercer 
of Chicago and Calvin Mercer of Norfolk.
