Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Tuesday, August 18, 1992 
Melvin Lee Mercer of the 2500 block of Grandy Ave., an accountant, died Aug. 15,
1992.

Mr. Mercer was born in Norfolk. He had been employed with the Veterans
Administration in Washington, D.C.

Survivors include his mother, Ruby Mercer; two sisters, Ruby Sims and Hattie
Cooper; and four brothers, Raymond Mercer Jr., Johnnie Mercer, Robert Mercer and
Arthur Mercer, all of Norfolk.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in Basilica of St. Mary of the Immaculate
Conception. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . A wake service will be from 7
to 8 p.m. Wednesday in Hale Funeral Home.
