Norfolk Virginian Pilot Tuesday April 5, 1955

Lee Ashburn Mercer, 48, of Fort Pierce, Fla., died there last Friday, 
according to word received here.
He was a native of Norfolk and had resided in Fort Pierce for the last 10 
years.  He was a son of the late John W. and Mrs. Maggie L. Morgan Mercer.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Eleanor Virginia Boynton Mercer; three 
sons, John Mercer, Fort Bragg, N.C.; Lee A. Sperling, Cape Charles and 
Robert Winninger, Palm Beach, Fla. and three brothers, Pat M. Mercer, 
Virginia Beach; R.T. Mercer and C.L. Mercer, both of Norfolk. 
The body was forwarded to Sykes Funeral Home, Berkley.  Funeral services 
will be conducted today at 2 p.m. in Magnolia Cemetery.
