Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark July 30, 1917

Lydia Margaret Mercer, aged eight months, died yesterday afternoon at 3:30 
o'clock at the family residence, 39 Hough Avenue, Hardy Homestead, after a 
month's illness.  She was a daughter of J.W. and Mrs. Lee Morgan Mercer.  
The funeral will be conducted at the residence Tuesday afternoon at 5 
o'clock and burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.

The funeral of Lydia M. Mercer, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.W. Mercer, was 
conducted at the family residence, 39 Hough Avenue, Hardy Homestead, 
yesterday afternoon, by Rev. O.D. Poythress, pastor of the South Norfolk 
Christian Church, and was largely attended  The floral tributes were 
beautiful.  Burial was in the family lot in Magnolia Cemetery.
