Virginian Pilot July 28, 1906

Charles C. Mercer died in this city at 10 o'clock yesterday morning, after 
an illness of several weeks.  The deceased was 50 years of age and was well 
and favorably known in Norfolk, where he had conducted business for several 
years.  His funeral will be held from his late residence, No. 217 York 
Street, at 5 o'clock this afternoon.

The funeral of Mr. Chas. C. Mercer took place from his late residence, No. 
217 York Street, Saturday, July 29, at 5 p.m. and was conducted by Dr. 
Rennie.  Interment was in Elmwood Cemetery.  Pallbearers - H.G. Bonney, J.A. 
Pritchett, Mr. Boyce, Dr. R.S. Kight, John Barbee and A.J. Goodridge.
