Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark April 26, 1914

The funeral of Malachi C. Mercer, 56 years old, who died yesterday morning at 
his home, 127 West Eleventh Street, will be held at his late residence on Monday 
at 3 o'clock.  The Rev. S.W. Melton will conduct the services.  Interment will 
be made in Elmwood Cemetery.
Mr. Mercer leaves two daughters, Alva and Vivian, two brothers, W. Mercer and 
S.C. Mercer and two sisters, Mrs. Benjamin Cason and Mrs. Henry Burgess.  All 
are residents of Norfolk except Mrs. Burgess, who lives in Hartford, Conn.

MERCER - At his residence, No. 127 W. Eleventh Street, Saturday, April 25, 1914, 
at 5:55 a.m., MALACHI C. MERCER, in the 57th year of his age.
The funeral will take place from the residence MONDAY,  April 27, at 3 o'clock.  
Friends of the family respectfully invited to attend.

The funeral of Malachi C. Mercer will be held from the residence, 127 West 
Eleventh street, this afternoon at 3 o'clock.  Services will be conducted by 
Rev. W.H. Atwill, pastor of the Colonial Avenue M.E. Church, assisted by Rev. 
Calvin S. Blackwell, and interment will be in Elmwood cemetery.
