Virginian Pilot November 19, 1961 

Mrs. Anna Belle Lee Mercer, 78, widow of William Wallace Mercer and daughter of 
the late Anderson W. and Mrs. Mary Anderson Lee, died in a Norfolk hospital 
Friday at 11:40 p.m.
She is survived by a daughter, Miss Mary E. Mercer of Norfolk; two sons, W. 
Carlton Mercer of Suffolk and J. Reid Mercer of Silver Spring, Md.; two sisters, 
Mrs. E.M. Moore of Norfolk and Mrs. W.H. Hardy of Richmond, a brother, Anderson 
Watkins Lee of Farmville; and 7 grandchildren.
Mrs. Mercer, a native of Buckingham County, lived in Norfolk 58 years, lately at 
500 Carlisle Way. She was a member of Talbot Park Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be conducted in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home today at 4 
p.m. by the Rev. Ernest L. Honts, pastor of the Talbot Park Baptist Church. 
Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
