Norfolk - Mrs. Mary E. Mercer of 568 Nicholson St. died Feb. 11 in a hospital.

A native of Norfolk, she was retired from the City of Norfolk Dept. of Parks &
Forestry after 25 years. She was a member of the Female Usher Board of Bethel
Baptist Church.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Florence Johnson, and Mrs. Leola Miller,
both of Norfolk, and Mrs. Gladys Woolfolk of Chicago; two sons, Jessie Mercer of
Chicago, and Calvin Mercer Jr. of Norfolk; two brothers, Peter Perry, and Jethro
Perry, both of Norfolk; 16 grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Graves Funeral Home had charge.
