Virginian-Pilot  December 15 & 16, 1925
Miss Mary A. Mercer, a native of Ireland, but a resident of Norfolk for the past 
60 years, died yesterday afternoon at 6:45 o’clock at a local hospital. She was 
the daughter of the late James and Kate Elton Mercer. Miss Mercer is survived by 
four cousins, Mrs. Louis Fisher, Miss Lawrence Kelly, Thomas C. Riley and J. P. 
Riley, all of this city.

Miss MARY A. MERCER – Funeral services for Miss Mercer will be held at 10 o’clock 
this morning at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
