The Virginian Pilot Tuesday March 28, 1978
Mrs. Olive Ellis Merrick, 88, of 227 E. 40th St. Riverview, the widow of 
Charles H. Merrick, died Monday in a hospital.
A native of Tyner, N.C., she was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.
Survivors include four sisters, Mrs. Nora Jordan and Mrs. Minnie Chappell of 
Tyner, Mrs. Thelma Weeks of Fort Worth, Tex. and Mrs. Lillian Mackey of 
Idabel, Okla. and two brothers, Otis Ellis of Loraine, Ohio and Herbert 
Ellis of Norfolk.
A funeral will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Cox Funeral Home Chapel by the 
Rev. Walton W. Davis of St. Paul's Church.  Burial will be in Magnolia 
Cemetery.  The family will be at the home of Herbert Ellis.
