Funeral from the home TOMORROW (Sunday) AFTERNOON, December 13, at 3 o'clock. Friends of the family invited. Interment in Magnolia Cemetery. ************************************************************** LITTLE ELIZABETH MERRICK BURIED SUNDAY One of the saddest funerals that has ever occurred in this section was that of little Elizabeth Keller Merrick, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Moses Merrick, which took place from their home in South Norfolk on Sunday afternoon. The little girl was accidentally shot and killed on Friday afternoon, and her death came as a great shock to the family and the entire community. The attendance at the funeral was very large and more than 1,000 people were present at the cemetery. A special car over the Berkley Street Railway brought the Sunday school children down from South Norfolk, who sang very sweetly at the grave. The obsequies were conducted by Rev. R. B. Scott, pastor of Liberty Street M.E. Church. There were many floral tributes The remains were laid to rest in Magnolia Cemetery, the following young men acting as pallbearers: Masters Ernest Lowe, Grant Morgan, Wallace Marshall, Edgar Burden, Chapman Tilley and Raymond Jones.
