Norfolk - Theresa Leo Merritt, 88, passed away on August 26, 2016, in her home.

Born in Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Giacinto and Rose Leo. She 
was a loving and devoted wife to her husband of 46 years, Jack Merritt, before he 
passed away in 2001. She spent many years moving with him all around the world as 
a Navy wife. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Left to cherish her memory: her son, John Merritt; daughter, Sandra Hudson; 
grandchildren, James Merritt (Bekha), Rose Estes (Webb), Meredith Hageman (Eric), 
and Laura Forstedt (Josh); great-grandchildren, Tristan, Alex and Maddie Hageman 
and Hope Estes; a great-grandchild, Forstedt, on the way; sister, Dolly Fedeli; 
brother, John Leo; as well as a large extended family.

The family will receive friends at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Dr. 
Chapel, on Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral mass will be 
celebrated at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2016, at St. Pius X Catholic Church. 
Entombment will follow in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, 
memorial donations may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or Leukemia 
Foundation. Condolences may be offered to the family at www.hollomon-brown.com
